During his time at a Liceo (high school/college) in Sicily, Alessandro Sacco (guitarist/keyboard/fx) discovered is passion for music and began playing with many different musicians from many different genres. The will to compose his own music began when he formed a tribute band of Radiohead and was inspired to create something of his own. When finishing his time at the Liceo, he had some rough compositions and decided that his little town in Sicily wasn't where he could fulfil his dreams of being a musician and seeked adventure. With this he moved to start a project in Rome, with a fellow member of the past band. The project was a great opportunity for Alessandro to work with music on many levels; playing guitar, keyboard, bass and also exploring the technicality; how to record, edit and mix for the band. The band suffered complications when the singer was offered a better opportunity and left, which lead them to find Poppy Shrimpton (vocalist//guitarist/keyboard). Impressed by the potential of Poppy when viewing an old cover of Radiohead's Street Spirit on youtube, the band decided that she held something that could really benefit their work and asked her to work with them. This is how Sølsync really began, when Poppy left her little village in the midst of East Yorkshire and flew to Rome to work hard, everyday for a month; writing, playing, learning more and more each day.

On first arrival there was an instant connection between Alessandro and Poppy, with the time they spent recording and playing together and found themselves on more of a mutual level than the others, which lead to disagreements. Together the band decided that they no longer had the connection they did at the beginning and that they would go separate ways in music. Alex and Poppy believed their connection and relationship musically and emotionally had such potential that Alex decided to pack all his wordly possessions and move to England to compose together.

Ever since, they have been working and composing together, trying to find their sound. With the influenes of: Radiohead, Thom Yorke, Portishead, Bjork, Explosion in the Sky, Warpaint, they would describe their sound as a blend of ethereal, electronic, alternative-rock.
